.

I can't describe how long I've been searching for the "perfect" pair of tan coloured ankle boots that I could wear to work (therefore has to be comfy as I do a lot of walking) as well as pair with casual weekend outfits. To make things even harder for my search, I was fixated on the idea of finding boots that would coordinate with both winter and summer outfits, hence classic black knee high boots were out of the question. Just imagine, wearing knee high black boots in the midst of a hot summer!

The reason for deciding on ankle boots that I could wear all year round is because I've noticed that my feet and heels have become very dry and chapped from wearing heels at work all day without stockings or sockettes, so I decided the best way to protect my heels would be to wear boots with socks underneath. I've somehow always disliked wearing stockings even during my high school years, except back then I could carry off the knee high socks with school uniform look which I haven't been able to rock since entering my 20's :P I haven't had much luck with finding the perfect no-show sockettes that work with heels so if you have any recommendations, do let me know in comments down below!

Anyway, getting back to these booties: I first saw these on a fellow Australian Instagrammer (@bossmama_mel) who totally rocked these boots that made me keen to try them myself. These ankle boots are called 'Neddy' and is from Sandler Shoes. I got the tan brown colour but it also comes in classic black as well as a lovely taupe colour, which looks like a blush/beige. The original price is $199.95, but I've noticed that they've virtually been on constant sale at 30% off all season. I also took advantage of a recent Shopback promotion to get an additional $25 back on my purchase! Thereby, making the total price come down to $114 or so.

The boots are described on the website as almond toe shaped, but to me it feels slightly pointy without being too over the top and make you feel like you're in witches shoes (by the way, did anyone watch The Witches movie remake this year with Anne Hathaway? I loved how villainous she was!). The heel is approximately 7cm according to the website and I have been very comfortable walking around all day at work for the past week. I took my usual size (36) and would say the shoes are true to size. The shoe is elasticized on both sides of the ankle with no zipper closure, but they have been the easiest to slip on and off with no foot-getting-stuck-in-the-boot issue. The ankle boots come up to just above the ankles right where my skinny jeans end without having to roll up my jeans.

The material is leather upper with synthetic lining and synthetic sole. I usually prefer my shoes to have both leather upper and lining, but I'll see how these stand up in terms of the durability of the synthetic lining. Many years ago I had two pairs of Sandler flat knee high boots that I loved and wore to death. They were super comfortable and I wore them on a daily basis as well as when I travelled around Europe, so hopefully these Sandler boots will be as comfy and hardy as my previous pairs.

Sandler shoes are available directly from their website, and is also stocked at Myer, David Jones and The Iconic. I try to wait for additional bonus cashback promotions from Shopback and purchase depending on which store was having the promotion (I've noticed both Myer and The Iconic regularly have additional 20 to 25% cashback through Shopback at various times so it's worth the wait). In case you're interested in Shopback, you can use my referral code: https://app.shopback.com/XBEslzOEdhb to receive an extra $10 bonus cashback in additional to getting cashback on your online purchases made through the program. And it's free to sign up!

The rest of today's outfit are my Kmart finds during Covid lockdown last year and have been worn regularly over the past 12 months. The sweater is the $15 Loose Knit Jumper in a mustard colour, which does not seem to have be available this year but I can see plenty of new colours, such as a purply-blue, khaki green and fuschia pink, as well as your classic black, white and camel (which I also got last year). The skinny leg jeans were $20 and are very comfortable with plenty of stretch.

In terms of wear and tear, the jeans have stretched a tiny bit but easily fixed by chucking them in the wash on medium temperature and whilst I very rarely put my clothes in the dryer, I can imagine that would also fix any sag issues. I think the blue colour may have faded a bit, and although the photo seems to have picked up some paler splotches, I don't notice this in real life. The sweater has a tiny bit of pilling but not yet to the point where I am reaching for my scissors to nip off excess pilling.

Hope you've enjoyed this little review. I'm still new to blogging so please bear with me as I find my groove. I've often relied on other people's reviews to help me decide on a purchase so I hope to do the same for others too through this blog. If you've also got a recent favourite pair of boots, either ankle, knee high or over the knee style, share with me down in comments below! Oh, and don't forget your no-show sockette recomendations too!

See you again soon~
