Topshop and Nobody Denim Petite Jeans from The Iconic Sale

I seem to be forever on the hunt for the perfect petite jeans, especially in a straight leg style. The Iconic (Australia) website is having a great sale with 30 to 40% off on a huge selection of items including clothing, shoes and accessories so I took the opportunity to have a browse of some jeans. I ended up getting four pairs to try: two from Topshop Petite and two from Nobody Denim Petite range.

1. Topshop Petite Jamie jeans: full price AUD $80, after discount $48
2. Topshop Straight leg jeans: full price AUD $90, after discount $54
3. Nobody Denim Petite Siren Skinny jeans: after discount $128
4. Nobody Denim Petite Kennedy jeans: after discount $144.80

1. Topshop Petite Jamie Jagged Hem Jeans in light blue

Topshop Jamie petite jeans often come up in petite jean reviews online and now I can totally understand why. Wearing size 26, length 30.

These are a classic skinny jean style that end perfectly right at the ankle. They have a jagged hem as described which makes it a bit more interesting. The colour is a summery shade of light blue. The material is a comfortable medium thickness with plenty of stretch. The fabric composition is 91% cotton. I'm wearing my usual jean size in 26, and the length is the shorter 30 length (described on website as 64 cm in-seam). Although this is my usual size, Topshop jeans seem to run small to me so this was a snug fit around the waist. These are also high-waisted jeans as well, though I would think they may gently stretch over time.

2. Topshop Straight Leg Jeans - mid denim wash

These are a classic straight leg style. I also took my usual size of W26 and L30. These are high waisted and the waistline is also a snug fit but with stretch. These jeans ended a little longer than the Jamie jeans and I feel they would look a touch better 1 to 3 cm shorter (I've tucked in the hem in my photo). They also look better with heels, though I appreciate that one would want to wear jeans with flats or sneakers most of the time.

The colour is a darker shade of blue than the Jamie jeans but also a nice wash. The main fabric composition is 99% cotton and 1% elastane.

3. Topshop Sheering Cami Top - on sale AUD $22.00 with 30% off currently

Not a pair of jeans but this summery top was just too cute to resist, particularly since it was on sale for under AUD$20. It's 100% cotton and the material is medium thickness and not see through. It's got a shirred elastic bodice with plenty of stretch. I was a little worried about picking the wrong size because the item is Final Sale which you can't return or exchange but luckily it turned out perfect. I chose my usual size 6 and was a tad worried it would be too tight (I call it my Covid weight) but the elastic bodice provides plenty of stretch.  I love the mint green colour (though the website describes it as mid-blue) as well as the bow ties for shoulder straps. Looking forward to bringing this top along with me on my upcoming trip to the USA!

4. Nobody Denim Petite Siren Skinny Jeans in 'Guided' wash (also available in other shades)

Siren Skinny jeans by Nobody Denim Petite

These are classic skinny leg jeans that end at the right spot right on the ankles. They have a raw edge hem that isn't too frayed. I'm wearing a size 26 and it's a comfortable fit, it definitely does not have that snug-ness which the Topshop jeans have at the waist line. The material is medium thick with 95% cotton and 5% elastane. I didn't realise this until I checked the labels but this brand seems to be an Australian brand and the jeans are made here in Australia. The original retail price may seem a bit steep but that's why I've been waiting for a sale to pick up these jeans! RRP AUD $229, managed to nab on sale down to AUD $128.

Nobody Denim Petite Siren Skinny jeans (sz 26) ends perfectly at the ankle

The last pair of jeans I tried on were the Nobody Denim Petite Kennedy jeans in size 26. They are high waisted, slim fit with straight legs. They're described as ankle length but on me they ended past the ankles and looked a tad too long, whereas the Siren Skinny jeans ended right at the ankle. They come in various washes and the one that I picked up on sale is called 'Folklore' and has a rip at the left knee. The hem is slightly frayed but not overly. The colour is also a summery blue. Got on sale at AUD $144.80.

Wearing size 26, which feels a little baggy around the thighs and ends past my ankles

I think I prefer to cuff the hems up for a smarter look

I wondered if the size 26 may be slightly too large for me, so I'd be keen to try on the size 25 in this style for comparison. If I did keep them I would probably roll up the cuff a couple of times to shorten the length as shown above.

The Kennedy jeans are also very comfortable, 99% cotton with 1% elastane and made in Australia.

6. Gucci Sunglasses - style number GG0636SK 001

I seem to have an obsession with finding the perfect pair of sunglasses! (what else am I note obsessed about). These Gucci ones are cat-eyed shape without being over the top (like my Celine butterfly sunglasses) and have gradient lens which lightens up the face a bit. They have category 3 lens which provides great sun protection. It comes in this outrageous purple velvet case with yellow lining. The frame is thin and light weight, with subtle GG logo on the side arm. Original price was AUD $390 and managed to grab a great discount down to AUD $273!

Other items worn in today's post:

  • Wool sweater (old) from Country Road size XS
  • Jane Debster Ballet flats in nude - also included in The Iconic 30% off sale
  • Jimmy Choo Romy 85 patent white heels

Conclusion: Topshop petite and Nobody Denim petite ranges are both great options if you're looking for shorter length jeans for petite sizes and without having to go the trouble of shortening the hem. Topshop sizing seems to run a little snug at first but would still recommend getting you usual size and the denim will probably become more comfortable over time. The Nobody Denim Petite Kennedy in size 26 was possibly one size too large for me though, but the Siren Skinny jeans in size 26 was perfect. The jeans come in various colours and washes so hopefully you can find one on sale in a colour wash that you like.
