Housekeeping: How to keep towels soft and fluffy
This weekend, I am prepping for my second AirBnb guest and wanted to make sure I have the towels nice and soft and fluffy and not feeling like Brillo steel wool scrubs!
Here are some of the helpful tips I came across on the internet that I'm keen to try on my towels. Do you have any tips for keeping your towels soft and fluffy? Would love to hear how you do it - share down in comments below!
Source from House Beautiful:
1. Don't overload your washing machine. For a 7 kg washing machine, recommended maximum number of bath towels is five.
2. Temperature setting - ideally body temperature around 30 degrees Celsius.
3. Use household vinegar - instead of washing detergent, run one cycle of laundry with one cup vinegar (without detergent).
4. Use baking soda (not bicarbonate of soda) - add half a cup to to your load, without the detergent (will overflow with bubbles if add with detergent) and run normal cycle.
5. Use less washing detergent.
6. Tumble dry - avoid this, but if do use the dryer then put onto low or medium setting (of specific setting for towels if available). Otherwise line dry til almost dry then put into dryer for 5-10 minutes to finish off.
