Keds x Kate Spade Champion Glitter Sneakers

Keds x Kate Spade Champion Glitter sneakers in white - currently on sale

Hi guys! Welcome back to another post. This week The Iconic Australia kicked off their 30% off winter frenzy sale and I was stoked to see these glitterazzi babies on sale at under half price!!! You can taken an extra 30% off the discounted sale price (no code needed), making them just under $60 AUD ($58.76 to be exact) from RRP of $139.95.

Sneaker comes in Rose Gold, White, Cream and Multi metallic

I had been eyeing these glitter sneakers many times during my search for wedding shoe options but in the end opted for the complete opposite with 10cm heels instead lol #petitelife. These glitter sneakers are pretty much the classic Keds canvas shoes in the Champion style but with glitter all over. It comes with satin ribbon shoelaces, which adds some ballerina-esque romanticism. The white pair has white ribbons and rose gold version has pink ribbon laces. Included in the box are standard cotton shoelaces that you can swap to if you didn't like the ribbon look. I have read reviews that the ribbon laces tend to come undone easily so it's great they've included normal shoelaces with the box. I don't generally like to comment on packaging but the pink box that the shoes came in was super cute and in keeping with the Kate Spade collab.

White versus Rose Gold - each pair also comes with standard cotton shoe laces (rose gold sneakers come with pink laces not shown)

The white glitter sneaker is unfortunately sold out in many sizes on the website, leaving only US size 5 (equivalent to EU 35) available. US5 is one size smaller than my usual but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I also bought the Rose Gold version in my usual size 36 (US 6) as I thought the colour was very unique.

On first impression right out of the box the shoes are just as pictured on the internet. It's not too in-your-face sparkly either. From far away the white glitter pair almost looks like plain white sneakers so I would style this with outfits that I would normally wear with white sneakers. The size US 5 was indeed a little tight on me though I could still get my feet into them without socks. I do have wider feet so those of you with narrow feet may be able to size down. For the size US 6, I was able to wear socks. The sole has arch support and feels more cushioned compared to a pair of classic Converse Chucks that I owned many years ago.

These glitter sneakers would be great for brides wanting to wear sneakers/flats on their wedding day and at the same time add some sparkle to their special day. You'd be able to wear them afterwards with everyday outfits and double up as a wedding keepsake. Since my wedding is now passed, I was hoping that I might be able to wear these as a potential jazzed up sneaker option for work and have comfortable feet all day. I tried to put together a few workwear outfits with these glitter sneakers but my overall conclusion is that they seem more of a weekend casual-wear shoe than dressed up shoes.

Here are some looks I tried:

Previous season Reiss blazer (UK4) - new season here, AG Farrah skinny jeans (sz26), Celine micro belt bag in taupe, Keds x Kate Spade glitter sneakers in rose gold

Witchery cotton ribbed tee (XXS), Banana Republic black pencil skirt, Tory Burch Perry tote (darker grey version here), Keds x Kate Spade glitter sneakers in rose gold

Chloe mini marcie double bag (new season grey here or check out this pretty shade of blue on sale here), Kmart shaping skinny jeans (sz 8), Keds x Kate Spade glitter sneakers in white glitter

Uniqlo lambswool women's jumper (current favourite this winter season. Wearing size XS, but should have tried XXS instead), Kmart skinny jeans (best $15 you'll ever spend!), Keds x Kate Spade sneakers in white glitter

H&M cream pearl jumper (XS), H&M glitter pleated skirt (old), Mulberry small Darley bag, Keds x Kate Spade sneakers in white glitter

What do you think? Which colour is your favourite - white glitter or rose gold? And if you have any dressy outfit ideas to go with these shoes, I'd love to know! Feel free to leave a comment down below or DM me on my Instagram account @choco_petitestyle

Also, in case your size is sold out on The Iconic website, you can also try these other retailers:
Both of these retailers have sale promotions at the moment but The Iconic currently have the best deal.

I also came across DIY tutorials (blog here and video here) that show you how to recreate this look with simple materials: plain cotton canvas shoes + glue + glitter. The trick to do this seems to be only working on a small area of the shoe at one time and ensuring you have somewhere dry on the shoe to hold onto as you work. It's also a great bridal shower activity idea as well, getting your bridal party and guests to DIY their own glitter shoes in the colour of their choosing and personalising it. If you end up doing this, please let me know how it turned out as I'd love to see!
