Last week, I finally got around to redeeming a gift voucher that a dear friend kindly gave me for my birthday a couple of years ago (thank you so much B!). I don't know why it's taken me so long to actually make a booking but after the experience now I would highly recommend it. I'm not one to regularly get facials and body massages, so this pampering spa package was very much a special treat. Just what I needed to knead out all those tense back muscles and some well needed hydration for dry autumn skin.
Birthday present from two years ago. Lucky they have a three year expiry! |
This was my first time visiting Endota Spa. Their website is easy to navigate and I discovered they have several locations across Sydney. I picked Broadway as it was reasonably easy for me to get to, especially with free parking across the road at Broadway Shopping Centre. I considered going to the CBD locations at either Martin Place (convenient for the train) or Four Seasons Hotel (uber lux!). However, I noticed that prices for the same packages were slightly more expensive for the CBD locations, which is understandable given their premium location. I'd recommend to check the respective price lists before booking. They also have variable prices for Monday to Friday, weekends and public holidays and slightly different opening hours. I made a simple comparison table for the packages I was interested in for the three different locations that you can see down below.
Broadway is running a special until end of May: a 60 minute facial and body massage for $150 AUD. Use code: H-EXPR24 when booking online. I ended up calling up because they were booked out online on the only day I was available during the week before I head off overseas for a trip and they were very kind to squeeze a booking in for me.
The staff were very friendly. First, you start off with a relaxing hot cup of herbal tea in the ambient waiting lounge. Tea of the day was lavender. If you like herbal teas, they have lovely gift sets ($19.95) of organic herbal teas in other flavours such as rose hip, lemongrass, peppermint, or passion flower and chamomile.

My facial and massage package included a body massage starting at the legs working up the back and neck followed by a facial massage and skin care.
Anna, who looked after me, was amazing. Before we began, she asked me what my target areas were for the massage and what my skincare concerns were. She made sure I was comfortable throughout and was gentle yet applied the right amount of pressure. She identified correctly that I had a very tense right shoulder blades area, a result of too many hours in front of a computer and holding a mouse in my right hand. For my face, my skin troubles are dryness and sensitivity with redness. I’m not sure exactly what she did (I had my eyes closed and relaxed the whole time) but it felt amazing and I came out of the massage feeling refreshed with glowing radiant skin.

After the massage, and only if you’re interested, they go through some of the skincare and body care products that they would recommend for you to use at home.
For me, the recommended products were:
- Sensitive cleansing milk
- Two step micro polish and peel
- Super C firming serum
- Peptide 8 hyaluronic serum
- Charcoal mask
I thought that I’d have a mull over the full sized products as I still have a stash of other skincare that I purchased during Boxing Day sales. I got the cleanser in the mini size ($33 AUD) which I thought I’d try out first. It would be handy to pack for our upcoming trip as well. They mentioned that they have 20% off storewide promotions during the year so I might wait for one of those to come along to try the other products. *Update 11/05/2024: Flash sale for Mother's Day this weekend - use code FLASH20 and enjoy 20% off skincare and wellness products.

They also have an extensive range of other products for skin care, body care, candles and scents. If you're looking for gift sets, these would make great presents too. All products are proudly made in Australia. The gift sets include the usual suspects like cleanser, moisturiser, hand wash and so on, but I think it’s a bit of a change from the usual brands that you might see in the department store, so a bit of a novelty treat. And if you’re still not sure what to gift, I can tell you from first hand experience that a gift voucher is always welcome!
Reflecting on my experience, here are my thoughts and how I've changed my daily habits afterwards:
- A facial and body massage is a wonderful occasional treat.
- They make a great gift idea.
- Even if you don't pamper yourself with a professional facial or massage, this experience reminded me (or technically my masseuse reminded me) to practice daily self care such as back stretches throughout the day and maintain good posture. You can also do DIY facials at home.
- Drink lots of water each day. I'm now aiming for six glasses and draw a little tally in my diary planner each day. Sadly I've only been able to get up to four most of the time.
- I've stopped wearing daily make up/foundation to work this week to see if this keeps my skin better hydrated. I've enjoyed shaving off a few minutes off my getting ready to go out time! And my skin no longer has visible dry flakes.
Daily self-care: regular stretches throughout the day to prevent tense muscles. You can check out this helpful page from Safework NSW for easy stretch exercises at the desk. |

Overall, I very much enjoyed my Endota spa experience and am now thinking if this should be something to indulge in more often! How often do you get a facial and/or body massage? And if you do, where would you recommend in your city? Is there a downside to having a facial too often (apart from on your wallet)? How frequently should a gal have a facial?
